Humanistic Sport Counseling
Mission
The purpose of this SIG is to provide an opportunity for members of AASP who are interested in a humanistic approach to sport psychology practice to increase awareness and disseminate information about humanistic practice. Specific areas of interest include humanistic approaches to performance enhancement, injury recovery, youth development, exercise participation, and team building. Humanistic practices and approaches include emphasis on personal responsibility, choice, here-and-now perspective, "I-Thou" relationships (Martin Buber), and a growth and development orientation.
