Dale Pease

Dr. Dale Pease passed away on October 25, 2020 in Houston, Texas at the age of 81. 

His career in the field started when he was awarded a fellowship to Florida State University to major in Movement Science under Dr. Robert Singer. Dale earned his Ph.D. in 1975 and accepted a faculty position at Iowa State University. In 1983, he moved to Texas to become chair of the University of Houston’s Health and Human Performance Department. While at the University of Huston in 2006, he served as major professor for over 20 doctoral students, all of whom have gone on to successful careers.

Dale was an AASP member for nearly 3 decades and one of the inaugural group of AASP Certified Consultants in 1992. He enjoyed the challenge of working with athletes of all levels on mental strategies to enhance their performance. Dale also published numerous articles on sport psychology throughout his career. Those that knew Dale said he was kind and humble, an excellent scholar, passionate about the fields of sport psychology and motor learning and that he had great rapport with his colleagues and students.

He and his wife of 55 years, Patricia, lived in Katy, Texas.
