Conference Planning Committee

The committee’s responsibilities include:

• Reviewing conference evaluations to make improvements/recommendations for changes. 
• Reviewing abstract procedures, categories, and session types. 
• Selecting keynote speakers, including Coleman Griffith and Performance Excellence Award Winner, and communicating with speakers to ensure their talks are appropriate for AASP audience. 
• Coordinating & selecting other featured sessions/speakers. 
• Accepting/rejecting abstracts based on scores from blind review, and programming them on specific days/times during the conference, taking into consideration program balance and speaker overlap. (This occurs during the in-person meeting in April/May at the conference location.) 
• Determining ancillary conference events, such as receptions and social gatherings.  
• Introducing speakers / making announcements at the conference.
