Kaelene Curry (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Colorado and Tennessee and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. She completed her master’s level coursework through the University of Denver’s Sport and Performance Psychology program, where she has also functioned as an adjunct professor. 2021-2024 she was employed at Vanderbilt University, operating as the Varsity Football team’s fully-embedded Mental Performance Director and Consultant. In this role, she provided performance consultations, psychoeducational services, and performance data analysis. She served as the Performance Team lead for football, guiding an interdisciplinary approach to athlete and program sustainable high performance. She is currently the owner of her consulting private practice and an affiliate professor for the psychology and neuroscience department at Regis University.
Kaelene is the founder and lead consultant for Mile High Performance Consulting, LLC, a mental performance consulting service for performers from all walks of life.
She consults with athletes, performers, and career professionals.
She has provided services in a variety of clinical mental health settings in the state of Colorado as well, including private practice, university counseling center, partial-hospitalization program, and with a counseling agency for inner-city children and families.
Prior to her psychological services career development, Kaelene followed a path as a collegiate softball coach. As an assistant coach, she learned the lifestyle demands of leading a Top-16 DII program. Her unique experience as a former DI athlete, DII and DI coach, LPC, and CMPC has afforded an empathic and informed lens into the cultural context and system that is inter-collegiate athletics. Her specific interests include teaching life skills through sport and performance, coach education, managing stress and demands of high-performing industry, leadership, organizational culture, biopsychosocial and systemic performance enhancement, career development and transitions.
