Bio

Greg Chertok, AASP-CC, is the founder of Peak Performance Coaching, LLC, based in New York where he provides services and guidance to develop purposeful, high performance team cultures within sport, business and education. He was formerly the Director of Mental Training at CourtSense, a high performance junior tennis academy in Bergen County, NJ, and has held academic appointments with the Departments of Psychology at Dominican University in NY and Seton Hall University in NJ.

Of note, his clients include business executives, high school and NCAA champions, UFC Pros, Jiu Jitsu World Champions, Super Bowl champions, Stanley Cup participants, and Olympic medalists. He has presented at pre-NFL Combine training sessions, USA Hockey Coaches Conventions, Englewood Hospital’s Pediatric Department Grand Rounds meetings, DAANJ (Directors of Athletics Association of New Jersey) annual conferences, sports medicine symposiums, and sport psychology conferences at the regional and national levels. Greg has also been featured as a Sport & Exercise Psychology expert on National Public Radio (NPR) Morning Edition, SiriusXM’s “Doctor Radio”, Healthradio’s “Sports Medicine & Fitness Show”, CaptainU Radio, and Voice America’s “Enter the League”. Greg has been an expert media source for Reuters, ESPN, The Wall Street Journal, Outside, Runner’s World Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, SportingKid Magazine, Newsday, Muscle & Fitness Magazine, and Family Circle Magazine, among others. He is on the Editorial Board for the American College of Sports Medicine’s Fit Society Page; is a regular contributor to US News & World Report’s Eat + Run wellness blog; and has co-authored a book geared toward youth baseball coaches entitled The Baseball Starter: A Handbook For Coaching Children and Teens.

He received his B.A. in Psychology at Tufts University and his M.Ed. in Counseling specializing in Sport & Exercise Psychology at Boston University in 2007. While at Tufts, he captained the baseball team and finished his career as an ESPN The Magazine Academic Regional All-American and a New England College All-Star. He currently co-owns and operates a youth summer sports academy called Pitch by Pitch Baseball and Sports Camps, in Congers, NY, one of the area’s larger specialty day camps that features both physical and mental skills training for 6-16 year old athletes. He is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
