Profile
Since 2016, Dre Bellavance has developed expertise in health psychology as well as in sports and performance psychology. She is particularly interested in the unique reality of athletes who have to deal with multiple stress factors that impact their mental health and success in their sport. Her practice is two-fold; it focuses on mental preparation with athletes competing at various levels (high school, university, private practice, olympians) and also covers the psychological challenges linked to practicing sports in highly competitive environments (depression, anxiety, injuries, concussions, transition into retirement, eating disorders). Dre Bellavance also works with patients wishing to cultivate healthy habits because of personal or health-related motivations. In 2022 she built a new graduate level course on performance and well-being in sports psychology at Laval University.
She believes it is important to continuously improve her practice and share her expertise and knowledge with the future CMPC. Mentorship can be provided in person or virtually.
