Profile
As consultants, we too are performers. As a result, we may also need assistance and the conditions around us to deliver our best performance. Mental Performance mentorship is a resource that mental performance consultants (mentees) can use to aid their development in and practice of sport psychology. Mentorship is an opportunity for mentees to bring experiences from practice to a mentor to aid reflection, processing, preparation, and future action within the mentee’s future consultation and life. Through my lens, mentorship is an opportunity for the mentee and mentor to both explore their own work collaboratively with the intention of enhancing the provision of sport psychology services.
As a mentor, I will journey with you and assist you in looking inwards and looking upwards in your performance as a consultant. My predominant orientations are existential-humanistic (E-H), gestalt, and internal family systems (IFS). Mentoring through these orientations means that my style prioritizes self-exploration, recognizing and understanding environmental influences around you and your work, and working through both content (i.e., what you do in consulting) and process (i.e., what does it tell you about you, your client, and your relationship with your client). My style is collaborative meaning that as we explore your role as a consultant, I will simultaneously be exploring mine. I believe that humans are always seeking self-actualization and through this mentorship experience, I aim to help you actualize your abilities and beliefs as a consultant and as a human being.
As a CMPC, my work has included individual and group consultation with athletes, coaches, and referees in sports such as rugby, martial arts, athletics, soccer, and volleyball. I also have a background in clinical mental health counseling and currently hold an associate license as a mental health counseling intern in the state of Florida.
