Jaume Cruz Feliu

Professor Jaume Cruz Feliu, a full professor of Sport Psychology at the University Autonoma Barcelona (UAB), Spain and AASP member, passed away on January 26, 2021.

Professor Cruz was a pioneer in the Psychology of Sport in Spain. He launched one of the two first masters programs in Sport Psychology in Spain of which the 30th edition is currently taking place. Cruz mentored many generations of sport psychologists and has also been recognized for his contributions, with more than 90 books, chapters, and research papers.

Jaume was the editor-in-chief of the Revista de Psicología del Deporte/Journal of Sport Psychology, a leading journal among Spanish and Latin-American sport psychology researchers and practitioners. He was also honored with several awards, such as the Ema Gueron’s European Federation of Sport Psychology (2011), and AASP’s Distinguished International Scholar Award (2013).
