Bio

Brian Miles is the Mental Performance Coordinator for the Cleveland Indians going into his 7th season with the Tribe. In his role with the Indians, Brian assists players and staff of the organization in the continued development to enhance performance and mental and emotional development. He works closely with organizational coaches, coordinators, strength and conditioning personnel, athletic trainers, and front office staff to integrate mental skills into assessment and training plans for players, teams and programs. Brian also supports the Amateur Scouting Department in behaviorally interviewing prospective amateur draft players, providing guidance and feedback to amateur scouts in their make-up interviews and preparation for interviews with amateur players.

Prior to joining the Indians, Brian worked for the United States Army as part of the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness Program both at Fort Bliss (TX) and Fort Drum (NY). In his role he taught mental performance skills and techniques to develop the mental and emotional strength necessary to thrive in adverse and stressful conditions. He worked to apply sport psychology principles in order to help Soldiers become high performing tactical athletes and foster high performing unit/teams in preparation for, during, and following combat operations.

Brian received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University, NJ where he played four years of college soccer. He then received his Master of Education in Psychology: Athletic Counseling from Springfield College, MA along with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Clinical Mental Health.
