Diversity Month Announcements - March & April
March is Women's History Month. Founded by Billie Jean King in 1974, the Women's Sport Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that girls have access to sports. March 8th is International Women's Day. Learn more about the IOC's Women in Sport Commission. March is also Deaf History Month. Learn more about USA Deaf Sports Federation and athletes like Tamika Catchings (@Catchin24) and Matt Hammill (@hammer_hammill & @TheHammerFilm).
April is Autism Awareness Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month! To find out more information on how to prevent sexual violence, visit the National Sexual Violence Resource Center and read the NCAA Sport Science Institute's Sexual Violence Prevention Tool Kit. For Autism Awareness Month, check out this article about the benefits of sports, exercise, and physical activity for individuals with autism.
