Positive Youth Development through Physical Activity

Mission

Positive Youth Development through Physical Activity SIG will work to create a thriving community of practice positive youth development around providing education and advancement of practices within the field of exercise and sport psychology through:

  1. Providing education to key stakeholders concerning the benefits of positive youth development through physical activity approaches;
  2. Promoting innovative ways to research positive youth development through physical activity;
  3. Identifying grants and funding agencies that support positive youth development and physical activity;
  4. Encouraging members from the exercise and sport psychology field to bring their skills and abilities to youth development through physical activity settings: first by creating  professional pathways in the field of  positive youth development through physical activity: second by furthering professional training and education specifically suited to physical activity-based positive youth development settings.
