CMPC Application for New Certification

The Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) certification program has opened the online submission process through Certemy for new CMPC applicants. Application decisions are released in approximately 8-10 weeks after the applicant receives emailed notification from the CMPC Certification Manager that their submission is considered ready for review.

The button below is connected to the CMPC Program's self-enrollment link for new CMPC applicants. Through this link, applicants applying for a new CMPC credential can set up their Certemy account (email/password) and, once logged in, you will see the option to begin on the initial application for CMPC certification. The self-enrollment link is for one-time use. After initial account creation and logging in, use cmpc.certemy.com for subsequent logins to finish your application, make any necessary corrections, and complete your recertification. As a reminder, recertification is required every 5 years after becoming initially certified as a CMPC.

Certemy is not compatible with Internet Explorer. This browser is no longer supported by Microsoft. We recommend using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to access the Certemy platform.

CMPC applicants should only create their Certemy account after they have completed all CMPC Knowledge Area (K1-K8) coursework and Mentored Experience hours. An automatic expiration date on your account/application will be assigned 2 years out from the date you create an account. Applicants who begin on their application very early prior to being ready for formal review may experience data loss over time if updates are made to the application by the Council at a time while the application is in process but not complete.

Please do not add your own files to the Transcripts step to prevent delays in your review process. Keep reading below to learn about our set schedule and process for transcript uploads.

  • Do not email AASP to ask why your transcripts have not been uploaded if you have not completed all steps, including payment of the application fee and uploading your payment receipt. It is mentioned below on this page that transcripts are uploaded only on a biweekly schedule when the application is deemed ready for review to begin.

Guidance Surrounding Transcripts to Read Prior to Starting Your CMPC Application in Certemy

  • Applicants should have official transcript(s) sent directly from their university to the CMPC Program either via email to certification@appliedsportpsych.org or hard mailed to:

    ATTN: CMPC Certification Council
    Association for Applied Sport Psychology
    8365 Keystone Crossing, Suite 107
    Indianapolis, IN 46240

  • Applicants should not upload their own transcripts to Certemy. Please do not email AASP to ask why your transcript was marked retrieved but not uploaded to Certemy yet. The guidance on this page will answer FAQs. Application guidelines require that the CMPC Certification Manager uploads official transcripts once all other steps are completed by the applicant in Certemy. This occurs on a set biweekly schedule close to the next review start date.
  • Uploading your own transcripts may delay the date on which application review could begin. Reaching out to AASP to ask about when your transcripts will be uploaded will not speed up the process.
  • When all transcripts have been uploaded by the CMPC Certification Manager, the applicant is able to see the "Transcripts" step status turn green in their account. The status change on "Transcripts" enables the "CMPC Applicant" step to also turn green. When you see all steps turn green, this means you will be emailed on the date the next application reviews begin. This occurs twice per month.
  • Applicants will get an email from the CMPC Certification Manager confirming when their application review is underway. This occurs only two times per month. AASP has custom reporting in place in Certemy to automatically know when someone is ready for transcript upload, thus indicating their application is ready for review. Transcripts will still only be added twice per month right before the Council's next scheduled review start date for new, complete CMPC applications. Uploading your own transcripts will create an issue in our reporting and could delay review of your application.

Mentored Experience Forms

The Record of Mentored Experience Hours Form and the Mentorship Verification Form can be downloaded within the Mentored Experience step inside the Certemy portal after the applicant has created their Certemy account. The two forms are also available for direct download below. Applicants must use the current forms rather than any prior versions when submitting their application for new CMPC certification. The forms below will get uploaded by the applicant to the Mentored Experience step in Certemy once all hours are accrued/verified by the mentee's mentor(s).
