Bio
Lori is a doctorate level sport and performance psychology consultant and a licensed mental health counselor. Lori has over 20 years experience working with diverse athletes, teams, individuals, couples, and families. Lori is culturally competent in working with all races, ethnic identities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expression, age differences, physical abilities, and spiritual beliefs.
Lori is a former D1 athlete who understands individual sport dynamics, as well as team cohesion and culture. Sport-specific coaches primarily teach from the shoulders down. Lori teaches from the shoulders up. The mental aspect of sports is the part of the iceberg that is below the surface of the water. Yet it is the foundation that exposes the tip of the iceberg (the physical abilities).
Lori is passionate about gender equity and social justice issues. There is a significant need in hearing and seeing athletes stand up and speak up for these inequities and inequalities. Lori is here to advocate for and support these athletes as they use their platform for systemic change.
Lori understands that mental health and mental performance are critical components for athlete's and performer's success. Lori is equipped to teach, implement, evaluate, and help maintain the mental side (both mental health and psychological skills) for sport mastery.
Lori is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
