Profile
I approach mentorship from a competency-based and developmental perspective. I view the relationship with mentees as collaborative and I work to create a safer and supportive environment where mentees can be open about their experiences, embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, and where we can learn from each other. I also work to match my feedback and support with the mentee's current stage of development.
My approach is an interactive process and incorporates scaffolding, using questioning and encourages mentees to use prior knowledge and skills to produce new learning. As a mentee approaches mastery at each stage I will adjust the support to incorporate knowledge and skills from the next phase. New information and skills should emerge through the interaction along with improved critical thinking and enhanced decision making capacity. This process although appearing linear is organic in nature and multiple levels of development may be addressed at the same time.
Rates: $150/hour or mentorship development program package
Format: Video or In-person
Clients: Bring own clients or consider applying as a mentee for yearly mentorship program (includes access to teams)
Mentorship Experience: 10+ years experience, multiple sports and performers (individual/team + performing arts, first responders, & more), supervision training, all levels (regional, provincial, national/high performance -- Olympic/Paralympic)
